GMP Youth Ministry will travel to Tallahassee along with the Northern District Union on April 13, 2024. If interested, please register and submit forms by April 1st.

Event Time: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Registration/Sign-In Time: 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. (sharp) Please note: pre-registered students must sign-in and retrieve their commemorative STEM Day backpack and T-shirt no later than 9:00 a.m. All items not picked up by 9:15 a.m. will be given away on a first come, first served basis.
Registration/Sign-In Location: The Alfred Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium located at 1800 Wahnish Way, Tallahassee, FL 32310.
Where should I park?
Parking: All STEM Day guests will park in the Bragg Memorial Stadium parking lot. There will be parking attendants in the lots to help guide you and they will have on either orange or yellow parking attendant vests.
Permission Forms: ALL participants MUST have signed photograph/video consent forms to participate in STEM DAY, as we will have multiple photographers and videographers documenting the events of the day. If you would like to submit the forms before STEM Day, please email both forms to famustemday@famu.edu. The last day to turn in the permission forms ahead of STEM Day is March 30th, by 5 p.m. If you are not able to meet the deadline, you can fill out the forms the morning of STEM Day. Please Note: If your son/daughter was registered through the STEM Day registration link, we have already received your consent forms.
What will the parents do during STEM Day?
All parents in attendance will have separate workshops and activities during STEM Day. The parents will also learn more about the campus through various tours and activities. Dress comfortable, don’t forget your sneakers and an umbrella/poncho!!! * Lunch will also be provided.
What will my child receive?
Meals: We will provide a full lunch for each participant. Water and other beverages will be provided throughout the day.
T-Shirt: We will provide each pre-registered participant with a commemorative STEM Day T-shirt and backpack. (We are asking all registrants to change into their STEM Day T-shirt once they have signed in) Please note that you WILL NOT be allowed to exchange your T-shirt. We are giving you the shirt size that you indicated during registration. NO EXCEPTIONS!
What should my child wear?
Attire: Due to the nature of the experimental activities your child will perform, all participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing that you won’t mind getting stained. For bottoms: long pants, jeans (no shorts) and closed toe, comfortable walking shoes (preferably sneakers/tennis shoes).
Should I be concerned about the weather?
Weather: In the case of rain, please provide your child with a small umbrella and/or poncho. Most activities will take place indoors, however, we will need to go outdoors to get from one building to another.
